Born in Samos around 532 BC. The Pythoness of Delphi had announced to her parents that they would have "a son who would be useful to all men at all times." He is a musician, astronomer, astrologer, mathematician, geometer, politician, magician and priest. Returning to his native country, he became Master of the Orphic Mysteries, giving them a new impetus. According to Diogenes Learcio, he died along with his best disciples in an arson attack.
